Trick or Treat

Yes, more Halloween excitement.
The Annual Arnell Halloween Dinner:
The Stones? I think not... the cast of Toy Story!!
(Drew is Buzz & I'm Bo Peep, with Woody and Jessie of course)
To really see the Buzz costume.
Tay and Addi
Snow Princess & Birthday Dora (I think they are both from Dora)
Mom & Dad
Indian Princess & Arab
(Funny side note: my cute niece Leah wouldn't go near Grandpa, until he took the wig off. She looked up and said, "Oh hey, Bompa", like he hadn't been there the whole time)
We took Jack around tonight to trick or treat just to 3 or 4 houses. We didn't last long in the pouring rain. Here he is though, all ready to go Woody & his trusty steed Bullseye.
(This is him saying, "Yee-haw" with the hat wave)
Not the best but the one of the best we got in the rain of him trick or treating.
Hope for less rain next year, ENJOY!

13.1

Just like last year, I started Halloween (or the day before) off it the Provo Halloween Half Marathon. It was pretty fun, tough, and hot with the cotton ball vest on!
Shortened my time this year by a HUGE 2 minutes, I know you must be so proud.
Came in at 2 hours & 6 minutes
Before the Race. These are all my sisters and mom...aka, Bo Peep and her sheep (literally)
(Brooke, Mom, Natalie, Me, & Becky)
SO glad to be done. My cousin also ran, she was a kitty!
Enjoy!

BOO!

Since Halloween is held on a weekend, I decided I wanted to throw a little party for Jack's favorite friends, so we could see their costumes. I think it was a success--Jack was past excited all day "Mom, please put on 'Tocume'". (how he says costume)
Woody the cowboy, a Spider, and Shark
(Jack struggled with Tyler's costume, Sharks are normally predators at our house, we kept explaining, "He is a nice shark")
Jessie, the Cowgirl.
We started by decorating cookies...
...while the boys got the guts out of the pumpkins.
Random tangent: Here are the girls. Poor Kara was husband-less.
We carved our pumpkins. Andrew tried so hard to get Jack involved, but he didn't care. All he told him was what shape and where. (I know what you are thinking, yes, it's a "special" pumpkin)
The finished products.
L/R: Jack's Olivia's, Mine, Tyler's, & Andrew's
(side note that all Olivia wanted was a surprised looking pumpkin, we could listen to her talk all day long!)
All lit up!
Holidays are so dang fun with Jack this year. He is so into...well, all of it!
I cannot wait to take him Trick or Treating!
Enjoy.

Leaves & Grandpa

Jack had a fun morning playing with Grandpa as I ran with my sisters & mom.
When we got back this is what they started doing...

We sure love our Grandpa! Enjoy!

Random Happenings

Just a few random pictures from this week.
1) I know what you are thinking, but yes he was closer and I pulled him back. Luckily it only lasted maybe 5 minutes.
2) Look she's finding her feet!! (oh shoot, I just noticed she's on a big blue and green blanket--it's no surprise I'm not about the pink everywhere).

Enjoy!

Autumn Activities

I'll first start with a picture of our cute little girl. Pretty much this whole post is about activities where Emma was with us, but unable to participate, and I just love that cute little face, don't you?
We first went to a small neighborhood pumpkin patch by my parents. Jack is seriously so funny, each time we have gotten pumpkins, he takes his time, finds the exact one he wants, and only him, then sticks with it. Stubborn much?
Jack with his cousins.
The second patch was with our friend Tyler (and of course his parents).
This is Jack giving me a speech about what pumpkin he wants.
Finally he picked one, after Andrew walked next to him asking, "This one?"
"Nope", Jack would reply.

Sure was fun! We LOVE the Fall!
Enjoy!

Fun Firsts

Our conference weekend was spent trying a few new things.

In attempt to keep Jack occupied and happy as we laid on the couch the whole weekend, I got some watercolor paints. I know what you are thinking, he's 2 1/2 and you have never let him paint. I know I'm ashamed too. But, I'm mostly opposed to messy, staining activities.
I am however pleased to find how easy watercolors are. He loved it too!

On the other hand, Emma started rice cereal. The first try wasn't too successful, but I'm excited for her to enter the world of solid food!

Enjoy!
